That sucks! Glad you're ok.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">That happened to some friends of mines 2 years back. Car ran a red, they hit the car got rear ended, 6 people killed. I fucking hate cheshire drivers. Once it gets past about 1am, no-one gives a shit about traffic lights.Originally posted by -megalithanod:
Uless they can prove you did a "brake job", which is hard to do - your insurance company is going to fight it.
Happened to my wife last year. Someone pulled out in front of her from a side road that had a stop sign and forced my wife to break, she got rear ended. The other car drove off, and the woman how rearended my wife's car tried to pin it on someone else, but they were talking to a brick wall.
BTW - glad you are OK
Tort, good to hear you're okay, I've been in situations like that, it pisses me off so much when people won'r admit that an accient is their fault.
If you are Ok, that's the first thing that matters.....
Glad to hear you're ok. Know any good ambulance chasers?
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">yeah..I was rather surprised that she'd try to foist the blame off on everyone but herself. being rear ended is generally pretty straightforward as far as who is to blame goes.Originally posted by Shout at the STD:

Last time I got rear ended, the first words out of the driver's mouth were "I'm so sorry, it was my fault, are you OK?". I guess I was expecting the same from her, not some shitstorm of curse words and yelling.
people are the same way here with lights sometimes..I once nearly hit someone who decided to do a u-turn when he had a red light. he basically went right into oncoming traffic, and was damned lucky that no one creamed him. hell, when I got rear ended last time it was because the guy behind me thought I would run the light, not stop for it.
anyone ever been to Montreal?
traffic/pedestrian lights there mean ABSOLUTELY nothing...
it's fucking terrifying trying to get anywhere there.
and I was only there for an hour.
and there's French people everywhere!
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Oui... methinks you have a problem with that.Originally posted by Peeker:

Gald you are o.k. Check your local laws, here in good ol California if you rear-end someone it's automatically your fault PERIOD, doesn't matter the circumstances. So the lady could have given excuses till her face turned blue, still would have been her fault. Did that make sense?
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I'm pretty sure it's the same way here. although I think if your brake lights aren't working, that's the only thing that could make the accident be ruled as "no fault".Originally posted by Toy Warrior:

I know when I got rear ended last time, the person I spoke with at the insurance company said "the other driver admitted fault, but of course you can't really deny it when you rear end someone".
